Hey, everyone! I'm Adrian Frost, and I'm so excited to share a personal story with you all today. It's something that's been a part of me for a long time, but I haven't had the opportunity or courage to share it openly until now. So, here goes!
I've been at this company for a few years now, and I've had the chance to work with many of you and get to know you as colleagues and friends. The work environment here has always been so supportive, but there was still a part of me that felt the need to keep some aspects of my life private.
A couple of weeks ago, I had a lovely chat with a friend outside of work, and they encouraged me to be honest with myself and those around me. So, here I am, taking that advice.
I've known I was bisexual for quite some time now. It's just another part of me, like any other trait or preference. It doesn't define me entirely, but it's an important part of my identity. For a while, I was unsure whether or not to share this at work. I didn't want it to overshadow my professional relationships, and I didn't want to be seen any differently because of it.
However, as I've spent more time here and seen how open and accepting this workplace can be, I've come to realise that sharing this part of my identity is not only about being true to myself but also about contributing to a culture of acceptance and inclusion.
I understand this might be new information for some of you, and it may take a moment to process. If you have any questions, I'm happy to chat and answer them as best I can. My goal is to create an open dialogue and continue to work together in a supportive and respectful environment.
Ultimately, I hope that by sharing this with you all, I can encourage others who may be going through similar experiences to feel comfortable and supported in being themselves. Thank you all for listening. Let's continue to create an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone.
